For the Solar Victoria residential solar panel rebate, applicants generally need to be the owner-occupier of an existing Victorian property or the owner of a home under construction.
The combined taxable income of all property owners must currently be less than $150,000 per year, and the property must be valued at under $3 million. The property must also meet Solar Victoria’s requirements regarding previous rebates and existing solar systems.

The Solar Victoria rebate contributes towards the purchase and installation of an eligible solar PV system. It can cover up to 50% of the eligible system cost, with a maximum rebate of $1,400.

Yes. To qualify for the government battery rebate, an eligible battery must be connected to either a new or existing solar PV system.
If you already have suitable rooftop solar, you may be able to add a compatible battery without replacing your existing panels. However, your current solar system, inverter, new battery and installation must meet the applicable technical, electrical and program requirements.
