If you’re a Victorian homeowner or business operator, it’s time to get the lowdown on the latest changes to the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. With 2025 ushering in a slew of updates, let’s look into what’s new, what’s changed, and how you can make the most of these energy-saving opportunities.
We stay updated on all the latest updates under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, so you’ll always know what’s changing in 2025 and how you can still pocket massive savings while doing your bit for the planet.
These updates affect how you access rebates, what you’re eligible for, and what kind of gear we can install for you.

New Efficiency Standards for Victorian Energy Upgrades

As of this year, the Victorian Energy Upgrades(VEU) program has raised the bar for what counts as energy-efficient. That means every system we install for you must meet stricter performance and energy-saving benchmarks.
We’ve already updated our range, so you’ll only get high-performing, compliant products like split systems, ducted reverse cycle air conditioners, and heat pump hot water systems, all tested to meet the 2025 specifications.
What does this mean for you? Better value. These updated systems run quieter, use less power, are eco-friendly, and cut your bills in the long run.

Bigger Rebates Under Victorian Energy Upgrades Are Still on the Table

Even with the new requirements, you can still access generous rebates through us.
For example, depending on the upgrade and your property, you may be eligible for up to $7,500 in rebates, especially when replacing old gas systems or electric water heaters. That’s a huge leg-up, whether you’re upgrading your heating and cooling or hot water setup.
We’ll guide you through the paperwork, apply on your behalf, and make sure your claim meets all the latest Victorian Energy Upgrades 2025 standards.

Victorian Energy Upgrades 2025 Co-Payment Update

A quick update on what you’ll need to pay out of pocket, as per VEU’s 2025 changes:

1.    For Heat Pump Hot Water Systems:

  • $200 minimum co-payment

2.    For Multi-Head or Ducted AC Systems:

  • $1,000 minimum co-payment
We know price matters, so we work hard to keep your total cost as low as possible while delivering high-efficiency systems and full installation. And remember, these small out-of-pocket contributions are for systems worth thousands. You’re still getting a massive return on investment.

Warranty Backed

Every system we install comes backed with a minimum 5-year warranty on all relevant components. Be it any of these upgrades, a heat pump, split system or ducted air con — you’re covered.
You won’t just get a product and be left on your own; we back our work, and we’re always here if anything goes wrong.

VEU Registry Launching Soon

The VEU is launching a new digital registry on 3 June 2025 to manage claims and certificates. What does that mean for you?
Not much because we handle that end for you. But it means faster processing, better tracking, and fewer admin delays on your installation or rebate. More upgrades, less stress!

Victorian Energy Upgrades Standards for Rental Properties

From October 2025, heating and cooling standards for rental properties are getting a major shake-up.
If you own a rental in VIC, you’ll now need:
  • A 3-star fixed cooling system, or
  • A 2-star central system
  • Efficient hot water (e.g. heat pump hot water)
  • 4-star shower heads
  • Heaters in every room (for rooming houses)
We’re already helping property managers and landlords get their rentals up to code, all while maximising their eligibility for rebates. Don’t wait till you’re hit with a compliance deadline. Let’s get your upgrades sorted early.

Strategic Program Review

Victorian Energy Upgrades(VEU) is also undergoing a full strategic review this year. That means more changes are likely to follow to align with Victoria’s move towards electrification and net-zero goals.
We monitor these reviews and changes in real time, so you don’t have to. We’ll keep you updated on anything that affects your eligibility or the types of upgrades available.

More Eligible Products

It’s not just about heating and cooling anymore.

The VEU now covers a wider range of eligible upgrades than ever before, including:
  • Smart thermostats
  • Home energy monitors
  • Draught-proofing products
  • Efficient LED lighting
  • And more on the way…
We can advise what’s available for your home or business and help you mix and match to maximise your energy savings.

Victorian Energy Upgrades has ramped up compliance and evidence requirements. More photos, recycling confirmation, and decommissioning proof for every install.
